How Soya has a Potential Benefits for Weight Control

1/2 cup of boiled mature soybeans contains 149 calories, 17 grams of protein, and 2.6 grams of fiber. Soy is rich in protein which can be taken advantage of.
Green soya beans are called Edamame. They can be part of a weight-loss diet since 1/2 cup contains only 95 calories and a good 4 grams of fiber.

Soy contains bio-active compounds called isoflavones which lower diabetes & heart disease. It is also seen to lower cholesterol & improve glucose tolerance in people with diabetes. This was identified by Young-Cheul Kim who headed the group of nutrition scientists at the University of Massachusetts.

These isoflavones may also help improve cardiovascular and metabolic health in women with PCOS. This is in line with a study conducted in the Kashan University of Medical Sciences in Iran by Zatollah Asemi, Ph.D. In this study, they examined a connection between women who have PCOS & isoflavones. They observed that a regular intake of soy isoflavone improved the way the body used insulin to process sugar and reduced levels of harmful cholesterol.
For people with Type 2 diabetes, in a research paper for a doctorate degree, Sandra R. Teixeira of the University of Illinois collected evidence of the power of Soy protein.

In this paper, the conclusion got was that consuming soy protein had a 10% reduction in the protein found in the urine of people showing early symptoms of kidney disease complications due to diabetes.

The benefits of soy are many. But consult your doctor or a nutritionist to include this in your diet plan. People, who are obese & trying to lose their weight, consult a bariatric surgeon for help and sketch out the best course of action.
